Strawberry chips are excellent for diets low in gluten, in addition with dairy, eggs and sugar.
Strawberries are an important source of vitamin C and fiber. They contain minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium.
Strawberry consumption is one of the best ways to lose weight. These fruits are rich in ellagic acid and anthocyanins. Anthocyanins promote generation of adiponectin in the body, a hormone that stimulates the digestive system and reduces appetite.
Scientific research has also shown that eating strawberries may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Moderate consumption of starchy foods, ellagic acid and anthocyanins helps control glucose levels in the body.
Here’s how to prepare strawberry chips:
- 12 strawberries, hulled and rinsed
- ½ cup water
- 3 tablespoon of Stevia
Put Stevia and water in a saucepan, heat and stir until you get homogeneous syrup, then let it cool.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and finely cut the strawberries lengthwise.
Soak the fruit pieces in the cooled syrup and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Keep the low temperature oven until you dry the pieces of strawberries (about 2 hours).
Once the strawberries are dried, remove from oven and place on a cooling rack.
