It is not always easy to clean the carpet, especially when there is an embedded spot. The superficial stains are usually easy to remove with a cloth but when deeper, depending on the material and texture of your carpet, they will be more or less difficult to remove. If you have a pet at home, for example, keeping the carpet clean and undefiled is almost a mission impossible! Especially if you have a young puppy which is not well trained and do not always understand that it should not eat or defecate there.
A simple trick to clean stains on your carpet
- Liquid dishwashing detergent
- Hydrogen peroxide
Mix equal parts of liquid dishwashing detergent with hydrogen peroxide. Then, using a stiff bristle brush, apply the solution on the affected area and leave on for about half an hour. After this time, press the area with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Then vacuum the area to remove the residue. This cleaning trick is easy to do and is very effective.
Some additional tips to thoroughly clean the carpet
- Use the soap
If you have an inlaid carpet stains, you can clean it with a sponge impregnated with water and soap. Scrub the dirty area with sponge and soap. Then rinse the carpet with water mixed with white vinegar. Let it dry.
- Use a shaving foam
On the dirty surface, spread a generous amount of shaving foam (or distribute the foam throughout the carpet). Make it penetrate the carpet by hand rubbing it. Leave the foam for one hour (or overnight for better efficiency). Then, with a brush or sponge, rub the carpet well. Vacuum to conclude this cleaning operation. Your carpet will be clean!
- Use white vinegar
This homemade recipe is especially effective if you have a very dirty carpet. With this trick, the carpet will regain its cleanliness and its original luster. For this, in a bowl, pour 2 cups of white vinegar, 1 cup of warm water and two tablespoons of dishwashing liquid. Dip the sponge in this solution and clean your carpet by rubbing, zone after zone (emphasizing the dirty areas), for optimal efficiency. Once the cleaning is finished, rinse with a damp cloth. Let it dry in the open air. Your carpet will be like new!
