When you want to lose weight, some body parts are resisting and fat elimination becomes difficult. But small tricks can help you burn even the most stubborn fat.
Fish oil: what is it?
Fish oil is derived from fatty tissues of fish; it is rich in beneficial fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and other substances that are part of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
These fatty acids are not produced by the fish but accumulate in their bodies due to their consumption of microalgae or prey rich in fatty acids. This oil has many health benefits, such as treating depression, lowers cholesterol, reduces inflammation, increases concentration and promotes weight loss.
Fish oil for weight loss
A study conducted by the researchers from the Kyoto University proved that this oil has fat-burning properties. They studied two groups of mice; the first consumed only fatty foods, while the second followed the same diet with food supplements based on fish oil. After a few weeks, the mice in the second group had 5 to 10% less weight compared to the first group.
How it works?
Some cells’ role in the body called adipocytes is to store excess calories in the body. Generally, these cells are found in the abdominal region or the thighs. By consuming fish oil, it has the ability to activate receptors found on the surface of adipocytes which will metabolize fat reserves. Consequently, this fat is used as energy and inhibits weight gain.
This substance is mostly found in the form of dietary supplement that you can find in pharmacies. However, it is advisable to consume it with moderation: 4 to 6 capsules a day for a month. This cure is to be repeated two or three times a year maximum.
However, this oil is not recommended for people who are allergic to fish. If this is the case, it is advisable to opt for natural and very effective slimming drinks, such as the following.
Recipe for slimming drink
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 organic lemon
- 1 organic cucumber
- 8 cups of water
- A few mint leaves
In a jug, pour the water, add the cucumber and lemon cut into thin slices and remaining ingredients. Put your drink in the refrigerator and let it sit overnight. The next day, take your first drink on an empty stomach and drink it all day long and drink daily for two weeks. You can practice this treatment only two or three times a year.
- Cucumber is low in calories and contains up to 97% water. Its dietary fiber promotes good digestion and provides a lasting feeling of satiety throughout the day.
- Lemon is a citrus fruit rich in antioxidants that helps to detoxify the body and prevents fat accumulation. It also contains soluble fiber, especially pectin, which in contact with water, swells and provides a feeling of fullness that will prevent the urge to snack.
- Ginger stimulates thermogenesis, increases body temperature to stimulate metabolism and to dip into fat reserves to restore the initial temperature. It also soothes the stomach for a lasting feeling of satiety.
Caution: Ginger is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, people with blood diseases.
