“I have a 57 years old neighbor with feet like she is a twenty year old girl” – says the author of a website and reveals the secret recipe of that woman

What are the causes for cracked heels?

The heels are under pressure from all the weight of the body when walking, and their fragile skin often ends up cracking, literally, especially if it is not well hydrated. To counteract this effect, the skin produces keratin which causes thickening of its surface. If the feet are not enough hydrated, cracks may appear.

Besides lack of hydration, other factors can cause this annoying problem:

  • Uncomfortable shoes
  • Diabetes
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Overweight
  • Walking barefoot

Initially, the cracks are not deep and are more unsightly than bothersome. But if they are not treated, they can become more deep and painful. In this case, it is important to consult a doctor to avoid complications.

But if the cracks are quite superficial, it may be easier to treat them successfully. It is recommended to do some exfoliating treatments, using a pumice stone, and moisturizers are necessary to get rid of dead skin and nourish the skin.

Very often people with cracked feet turn to creams and other chemicals to fix the problem. However, some grandmothers’ remedies based on natural products can be just as effective.

Here are two easy recipes to prepare at home, to have soft feet and without crevices

Recipe # 1

  • 10 aspirins
  • 70% medical alcohol

Crush the aspirin tablets to a powder and then add the alcohol. Let the preparation rest for 4 or 5 days, stirring every night to become a smooth cream. After this period, the mixture is ready for use.

Take a strip of gauze and soak it in this mixture and apply it on your heels. Then wrap your feet in a plastic wrap and put on some socks. Leave it overnight and wash the next day with warm water. Do not forget to apply a moisturizer or glycerin, after having thoroughly dried the feet.

You will see amazing results in just 10 days, soft skin without crevices.

Recipe # 2

  • 5 or 6 aspirins
  • Lemon juice

In a bowl, crush the aspirins and pour the necessary amount of lemon juice to get a paste with a thick texture. Apply the mixture on your feet and wrap them in plastic wrap. Then put on socks.

Let the mixture sit for 10 or 15 minutes, and then rinse with a sponge.

As effective as they are, these remedies will not however prevent the recurrence of cracks. It is therefore very important to take care of your feet, like any other body part.

A good foot hygiene and regular moisturizing are essential. Exfoliate your feet and apply recipes using natural products to avoid having a rough skin.

It is also advisable to opt for comfortable shoes to reduce injuries on the feet.
