Strong odors, difficult stains, limescale or hair balls, cleaning the toilet is one of the hardest chores. Added to this is the toxicity of the cleaning products used, a real health hazard, especially to the eyes, lungs and skin. Fortunately, there are natural methods that facilitate cleaning and descaling of toilets and bathroom.
Here are simple, economic and ecological tips to clean your restroom and toilet. You only need natural ingredients that you probably have at home.
- Clean the toilet bowl
The toilet bowl is a real breeding ground for bacteria, hence the importance of cleaning it properly. For this there is nothing better than white vinegar. Thanks to its antibacterial properties, vinegar is effective in removing germs and bacteria that plague your toilet.
How to do it? Start by pouring a good amount of white vinegar in the toilet tank and into the bowl, then spray white vinegar on and under the toilet seat. Wipe.
The last step is to soak paper towels in vinegar and then fix it on the inside edges of the bowl. Leave on for several minutes, then scrub with a brush.
- Remove water stains on the faucet
No need to rub your faucets with cleaning products to remove water stains, you only need two ingredients you have in your kitchen.
Rub a slice of lemon on the faucets, they will regain their shine. The acid contained in the lemon will help to eliminate the traces of water.
If the stains are stubborn, use white vinegar. Cover the faucet with a cloth soaked in white vinegar. Leave on for 30 minutes before rinsing. You can also use a toothbrush to scrub faucet.
- Getting rid of mold
The restroom is a good medium for mold that grows in moist environments. Unsightly but also dangerous to the health, mold can be difficult to remove.
If you have mold at home, simply dip a brush in white vinegar and rub the affected areas. The antibacterial properties of the vinegar will help to eradicate the mold that tends to accumulate on the corners of the windows or bath tub.
- Shine mirrors
To clean stains on your mirror, you only need black tea. This ingredient is a powerful degreaser, very effective against stains on the windows. Infuse 3 bags of black tea in a glass of water. Leave on for a few minutes, then pour the liquid into a spray bottle.
Spray a little on the mirror and wipe with newspaper (not a paper towel). If you have stubborn stains on the mirror, you will definitely need to repeat it twice, but the result is guaranteed. Your mirror will be like new!
- Disinfect the toilet brush
Used to scrub dirt from the toilet bowl, the toilet brush is the ideal environment for bacterial growth. To clean it, forget about cleaning products and opt for white vinegar. This ingredient is a powerful antibacterial agent and will help to remove germs from the brush.
Prepare a mixture of water and white vinegar and soak in it the brush for an hour or two before rinsing.
