Nicotine is a potent parasympathomimetic alkaloid found in the nightshade family of plants (Solanaceae) and is a stimulant drug.
Nicotine is highly addictive. An average cigarette yields about 2 mg of absorbed nicotine, and in lesser doses of that order, the substance acts as a stimulant in mammals, while high amounts (50–100 mg) can be harmful. This stimulant effect is a contributing factor to the addictive properties of tobacco smoking. Nicotine’s addictive nature includes psychoactive effects, drug-reinforced behavior, compulsive use, and relapse after abstinence, physical dependence and tolerance.
What Is Cream Of Tartar?
Cream of tartar is one of those mystery ingredients you might have seen in your grandma’s pantry without knowing what it’s used for. After all, its name doesn’t give you a clue—not like baking powder or baking soda.
#1 – Quit Smoking
Smokers are almost twice as likely to have a heart attack compared with people who have never smoked.Stopping smoking has huge benefits and it’s never too late to give up.
The orange juice restores the body’s vitamin C levels, which take a hit due to the chemicals in cigarettes. Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. Humans, unlike most animals, are unable to synthesize vitamin C endogenously, so it is an essential dietary component. One source says they quit smoking by drinking a medium glass of orange juice with half a teaspoon of cream of tartar every night for 30 days.
#2 – Reduce Arthritis Pain
Arthritis is very common but is not well understood. Actually, “arthritis” is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions.
100 grams of cream of tartar contains 2 milligrams of magnesium – a compound which “modulates cellular events involved in inflammation.”
Also mixing 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar with 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt to create a bath, can help. Soak in this for 30-40 minutes once or twice daily.
If your arthritis pain is localized, cut the cream of tartar and Epsom salt quantity in half and use a bucket instead.
#3 – Relieve Urinary Tract Infection
If you’re a woman, your chance of getting a urinary tract infection, or UTI, is high; some experts rank your lifetime risk of getting one as high as 1 in 2 – with many women having repeat infections, sometimes for years on end. Get 1 and half teaspoons of cream of tartar and mix it with 1 cup of warm water. Then, add a few drops of lemon juice. Drink this mixture 1-2 times each day.
#4 – Clear Acne
Chances are you’ve had acne at some point in your life. Maybe it was as a teenager when all you were trying to do was be ‘normal’, or perhaps it sprouted overnight when you hit 22.
You can create a drink with 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar and 8 ounces of water or orange juice.Drink this daily and, with time, the mixture will remove the toxins and bacteria responsible for acne from your system.
#5 – Reduce Blood Pressure
A systolic blood pressure of 120 to 139 means you have prehypertension or borderline high blood pressure. Even people with prehypertension are at a higher risk of developing heart disease. A systolic blood pressure number of 140 or higher is considered to be hypertension, or high blood pressure.
100 grams of cream of tartar contains a whopping 16,500 milligrams of potassium.
If you’ve got high blood pressure problems, begin by checking with your doctor to see if a potassium deficiency is indeed the cause. If so, take 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar and mix it with a glass of water. Drink nightly.
