For many people, tea bags are a one-use item. One bag equals one cup of tea. Then the used bag goes in the trash bin, right?
Well… not quite. While you may not relish the idea of using the same bag to brew more than one cup of tea, there are still plenty of other uses for those little packets of damp tea leaves.
Wipe your mirrors and windows with used tea bags then buff try with a clean soft cloth or paper towel. The tea’s tannic acid will leave the glass sparkling clean…with no lingering chemical smell. Add used teabags to warm water and soak your feet in them to nuetralise foot odours, soften calluses and nourish skin.
What can you do when you forget to use sunscreen and have to pay the price with a painful burn? A few wet tea bags applied to the affected skin will take out the sting. This works well for other types of minor burns (i.e., from a teapot or steam iron) too. If the sunburn is too widespread to treat this way, put some tea bags in your bathwater and soak your whole body in the tub.
