By itself, this cancer protocol is rated only as being effective on newly diagnosed cancer patients who do not have fast-growing cancer and their cancer has not spread significantly.

Essiac Tea may also be useful in protecting the liver. If you are an advanced cancer patient who has had a lot of chemotherapy, radiation or surgery or you have a potentially fast-growing cancer, do not use this protocol as your primary cancer protocol; use one of the major protocols listed above.

The story of Rene Caisse’s struggle to make Essiac an official cancer treatment was told by Dr. Gary Glum in his book CALLING OF AN ANGEL:  ESSIAC, NATURE’S CURE FOR CANCER.  In a telephone conversation Dr. Glum stated that people who take Essiac on a regular, preventive basis do not get cancer.  Dr. Glum interviewed JFK’s personal physician, Dr. Charles Brusch, who stated:  “I know Essiac has curing potential.  It can lessen the condition of the individual, control it, and it can cure it.”

Essiac tea is a mixture of roots, bark and leaves sold worldwide as a health tonic. While it has been most notably been used as an anticancer treatment, it’s also used to treat other serious health problems like gastrointestinal diseases, diabetes and even AIDS.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death (behind heart disease) in the United States according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The western world spends trillions of dollars each year on conventional cancer treatments with limited results. Natural and inexpensive herbs and botanicals such as Essiac tea have great promise to help many who are suffering from cancer and other chronic diseases.

There’s an ongoing information war between “conventional” cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery) and “alternative” cancer treatments (using foods, herbs, and other natural modalities).

Whatever your thoughts on conventional medicine or your personal choice about following standard medical advice, there are available holistic therapies you can use in conjunction with your current cancer treatment to increase your chances of surviving a brutal and unrelenting disease.

If you are pregnant, nursing or trying to conceive. This tea contains constituents (chemicals) which may increase blood flow to the pelvic region and stimulate menses. Safety of the herbs have not been determined for small children. Properties of this tea may pass through the mother’s milk to the infant.
