You frequently suffer from colds, infections, fatigue, sleepiness or poor concentration? To eliminate all this and protect your health, we have looked into the Russian medicine to give you this natural and effective remedy based on kefir and buckwheat flour.
Kefir, what is it?
Kefir is a lightly carbonated beverage obtained by fermenting milk or sweetened juice. It was discovered in the Caucasus, on the border of Russia, when the nomads were transporting milk (goat, sheep or reindeer) in skin bags, which used to turn into a thick drink whose shelf life was long enough.
It can also be prepared by use of kefir grains available in the market. However, unlike the fermented drink, kefir grains are not edible.
How to make Kefir?
In a large glass container, put about 70 grams of water kefir grains and pour 1 liter of mineral water. Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, a half lemon, sliced, and 2 dried figs. Cover your mixture without closing the jar and let stand 24 to 48 hours at room temperature.
Virtues of kefir
Kefir is an “elixir of youth and health.” It is rich in minerals, vitamins, proteins, bacteria and very beneficial probiotic yeast for the body. Kefir probiotic strengthens the intestinal flora responsible for waste transit and improves the digestion process, which can effectively manage bloating and constipation.
Kefir is also used to regulate cholesterol levels, reduce eczema and strengthen immune system. It has an anti-cancer effect in a way that helps the body fight against the development of cancer cells.
The buckwheat flour or buckwheat also possesses many remarkable healing properties: it strengthens the body, rejuvenates the blood vessels, reduces fatigue, improves blood circulation in the hands and feet and increases urine secretion.
It is also very beneficial for memory and concentration, lowers blood pressure, helps to treat arteriosclerosis and cures constipation.
The combination of these two ingredients multiplies their effectiveness to boost body’s defense and to restore body’s balance. In effect, reduces the blood sugar in the blood, cleanses the intestines and blood vessels, stabilizes the metabolism and function of the pancreas and increases the level of hemoglobin in the blood.
- 1 tablespoon of buckwheat flour
- 180 ml of kefir
- A little honey (to taste)
- A teaspoon of flaxseed
- Pour 180 ml of kefir on 1 large tablespoon of buckwheat flour and a teaspoon of flaxseed (ground if possible) and mix.
- Make this mixture in the evening and let stay overnight in the refrigerator.
- In the morning, stir the mixture again before eating.
- This preparation must be consumed as breakfast.
- You can add a little honey if you prefer to get sweet taste.
- You need to avoid eating, 3 hours after consuming this remedy.
The whole detox treatment takes 14 days. Repeat this process every six months.
Note that kefir consumption reduces the absorption of certain drugs because of its high calcium content. This is why it is advisable to avoid consuming it 2 hours before and 2 hours after taking medication. This is the case also for people taking blood thinners, and should limit their consumption of kefir to one drink per day maximum for its high vitamin K content which promotes blood coagulation.
Buckwheat flour consumption can cause an allergy whose symptoms may be more or less severe, ranging from a mild rash to anaphylaxis – severe swelling of the face and throat, which, if not immediately treated, can cause death.
